About Us

George Stone Limited was established as a master house builder more than 55 years ago and over time has moved away from major property development to specialise in conversion, refurbishment, alterations, home extensions, renovation, re-decoration and maintenance services.

Our rates are some of the most competitive around, and we are proud to hold the maintenance contract for East Sussex County Council. Our vast experience and knowledge of heritage and listed properties means we also work extensively for the National trust.

Following their submission of a detailed response to tender, George Stone converted our 2 bedroom bungalow into a chalet bungalow which now has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, open plan lounge / kitchen, 2 further rooms and a bathroom downstairs with very little of the original structure remaining. Towards the end of the build, the COVID-19 shutdown happened which inevitably delayed completion and created difficulties including problems in getting some building materials; however, in spite of all this they did a fantastic job. We are now living in our new, wonderful home.
